When I first became a mum, I found myself constantly Googling everything about babies: sleep, feeding, milestones, and the quirky little things I never expected. Because I’m a science communicator at heart, I couldn’t stop digging into the actual research behind those questions.
That’s how Science Baby began. What started as a few fun TikTok videos quickly grew into a community of parents and carers who, like me, wanted evidence-based parenting science explained in a way that’s warm, funny, and relatable to real life.
Why Start a Parenting Science Podcast?
As my little Science Baby has grown into a busy toddler and I’ve gone back to work, I’ve found it harder to make as many videos as I’d like. But I still have a long list of fascinating topics I want to share, from baby sleep science and feeding myths to the psychology of risk and the weird, wonderful biology of early parenthood.
That’s why I’m so excited to be launching the next chapter of Science Baby: The Science Baby Podcast.

What to Expect from the Podcast
I’ll be co-hosting with my friend (and fellow science communicator and first-time mum) Kim. Each week we’ll compare notes on our own parenting adventures (and disasters!), share our most embarrassing stories, and dive into the science of babies, toddlers, and parenthood.
It’s not a lecture or a how-to guide, it’s just two mums figuring things out alongside you, with the added bonus of some cool, evidence-based science.
When and Where to Listen
The Science Baby Podcast officially launches on Friday 19th September, with the first three episodes dropping on day one. After that, you can look forward to a new episode every week.
You’ll be able to listen:
- On Apple Podcasts
- On Spotify
- On YouTube
- Or wherever you get your podcasts
And of course, every episode will also be available to stream right here on The Science Baby website.
